Wedding services holiday boom in China

Many couples in China favor the National Day Holiday as a time to tie the knot. And there are as many different ways of doing it as there are different couples.

A couple in Dalian took advantage of their port city locale and got married on a boat. The betrothed apparently are not superstitious, as they became transformed into "Jack and Rose," while scenes from the disaster epic Titanic played behind them. Then later, they shouted their declarations of enduring love to relatives standing on the shore.

In Shanghai twenty couples got married all at once. It was a traditional Chinese-style wedding. Bridegrooms and the Brides were dressed up in red finery and ancient rituals were performed during the ceremony.

These days, unique nuptials expressing individuality are increasingly popular among young people. Mass weddings and traditional style weddings both are popular choices.

In North China's Hebei Province, a couple chose to celebrate their nuptials -- then went to a farm to plant cabbages. They're city people --- never lived on a farm. Neither had ever handled a hoe. But the couple wanted a taste of the rural and the rustic; reinforcing their vows by doing their part for environmental protection and sustainable growth.
