A: Yes, I believe that the space program is one of the most important programs the United States has and that
 we ought to spend even more money on it than is being spent right now.

The space program is an investment in the future, and it has great potential to make life on earth better.

B: First of all, I want to make it clear that I am not against the space program.

I just think it costs too much and that society would benefit more from improved social programs than from space
 exploration.

If we could have both -- an elaborate space program and really good social welfare programs -- I would be very happy.

But if we have to choose, I am in favor of choosing to invest in social welfare programs.
