common/ordinary/general/usual的区别和用法

common/ordinary/general/usual
上面四个词都含＂普通的＂的意思，但是在使用上是有差别的．
１）common强调＂常见的＂＂不足为奇的＂．
　(1)The condition is most common among teeragers aged 18 to 24.
　这种情况在１８到２４岁的青少年中是最常见的．
　(2)This bird is common throughout Europe.
　这种鸟在欧洲很常见．
２）ordinary强调＂平常的＂＂平淡无奇的＂．
　(1)His ordinary supper consists of only bread and milk.
　他通常的晚餐不过是面包和牛奶．
　(2)The book which I have read recently is about ordinary people.
　我最近读的这本书是关于普通人的．
３）general意为＂普通的＂＂一般的＂
　(1)This book is intended for the general reader,not for the specialist.
　这本书是为了一般读者写的，不是为专家写的．
　(2)Twenty years ago,most children got a good general education in puplic schools.
　二十年前，许多孩子在公立学校得到了很好的普通教育．
４）usual意为＂一贯如此的，习惯性的＂
　(1)As usual,he arrived early and started to work.
　像往常一样，他很早就到了，并开始工作．
　(2)This is the usual state of the house.
　这房子里平常就是这个样子．
