Royal antiques return to China

Four art pieces considered Chinese national treasures have just come home from overseas. The collective value of the pieces is estimated at 70 million yuan, or eight million U.S. dollars. All four treasures now are on display in Taiyuan, capital city of north China's Shanxi Province.

The four antiques had been in the possession of a Taiwan collector. He gathered them during his regular trips around the world.

A golden strap, from 2300 years ago, is the most valuable of the pieces. The strap, which is believed to have belonged to a very powerful emperor, is the largest of its kind ever found.

A lacquer pot and cup, with a history dating back 1800 years, resembles similar vessels found in the royal tombs of the Eastern Dong Dynasty.

A bronze vessel, delicately carved, reveals a highly developed standard of craftsmanship.
