Chang´e one making good progress
China's first lunar orbiter, the Chang'e One, is expected to reach the moon's orbit next Monday. Chinese authorities Thursday briefed the media on the current state of the mission.
The spokesman for China's National Space Administration, Pei Zhaoyu, says Chang'e One's mission has been successful so far since it blasted off on a Long March carrier rocket last Wednesday from Xichang launch center, Sichuan province.
After three successful orbital transfers, on Wednesday afternoon, Chang'e-1 completed its fourth and final orbital transfer, a critical move that will allow it to fly to the moon.
