Guangzhou, November 15 - Asian Games Performance was inaugurated in Shangri-La Hotel in Guangzhou on November 8. A total of 317 shows are to be staged in succession around the city from November 8 to December 19.

More than 100 guests were present at the ceremony, which included Princess Nodorom Bopha Devi and Prince Thomico Sisowath of Cambodia, Wang Xiaoling, Member of the Standing Committee of the Guangzhou Municipal Committee of Communist Party of China (CPC) and Minister of the Press and Publicity Department of Guangzhou Municipal Party Committee as well as artists from Syria, Lebanon, Palestine and other countries.

The Opening was started with a red ribbon-cutting ceremony by all distinguished guests present.

Starting on November 8 till December 19, 38 dramas and programmes performed by artists from China and 19 other countries and regions, such as Germany, Russia, Japan, Republic of Korea, Cambodia, Burma, Iran and United Arab Emirates (UAE) will be staged, making a total numner of 317 sessions in 17 venues like Xinghai Concert Hall, Guangzhou Baiyun International Convention Centre, Huanghuagang Theatre and Friendship Theatre. This will be the largest cultural campaign ever in Guangzhou, featuring the biggest number of performing sessions and participating countries and regions.

As a Chief Planner of the Asian Games cultural campaign, Wang addressed the Opening and expressed her hope that Guangzhou citizens and international friends will go to watch these shows, enjoy the fun brought by the Asian Games and enhance understanding of diversified cultures.
