5月4日青年节，温总理在北京大学为所有青年学生写下一句话：脚踏实地。这其中包含了温总理对所有年轻人寄予的期待。

“脚踏实地”用英语怎么说呢？很简单：down to earth；

作形容词时表示“本色的，不做作的，平易近人的”，

例如：Although he has achieved international fame, he is still a down-to-earth fellow.

为什么年轻人要脚踏实地？因为年轻，因为无谓，因为有太多渴望和梦想，我们可能会变得好高骛远，眼高手低，用英语说就是bite off more than one can chew，不量力而为，最终可能一事无成。

尤其是那些在学校里各方面都很优秀的学生，很容易have his/her head in the clouds，想入非非而不考虑眼前实际，they aim too high，后果往往就是the reality hit them in the head,被现实打醒，或者一蹶不振，to go to the dogs，或者重新认真来过，start all over again。

失败之后也不要紧，最重要是尽快振作起来，get your feet back on the ground，记住这句话：have a down-to-earth attitude，抛弃幻想，坚持理想！
