In Spain's Primera Liga, Valencia have been routed 5-1 by league leaders Real Madrid just hours after PSV's Ronald Koeman was announced as their new coach. Raul Gonzalez slotted the ball after just 40 seconds to give the visitors the perfect start.
25 minutes later, Real doubled their lead, this time Ruud Van Nistelrooy the goalscorer. Five minutes after that, they were three-nil ahead when Sergio Ramos curled a shot from a tight angle on the right inside the far post.
Six minutes later, Van Nistelrooy claimed his second goal of the night to make it four-nil. Valencia started brighter in the second half, as Miguel Angel Angulo scored in the 59th minute with a powerful shot. But Valencia's comeback didn't last long as Robinho added another goal six minutes later. 5-1 the final score.
